How To Play Blues Guitar
Any guitar player who has an interest in learning how to play blues guitar would do themselves a big favor if they checked out Griff Hamlin's latest package, Playing Through The Blues. Learning the blues can be a frustrating task, as can learning any particular style. It appears to be so simple, but only a handful of people seem to know the trick to really making it sound great. Griff andhis team have put together what I believe is a really thorough, step-by-step method that has actually beentested and proven on his own guitar students over the past several years. The main book provides all of the scales, techniques, theory, and tricks that you'll need, following a simple and logical progression. Each chapter builds on the one before it. At the end of each chapter, you'll be told exactly what you need to be able to do before moving on to the next chapter. As you may know, I believe that setting markers and objectives is an excellent way to monitor your progress and this is a good way of accomplishing that.
The comprehensive eBook is accompanied by audio examples and jam tracks which come with a full speed and slow speed version. This is really useful for beginners learning how to play blues guitar, allowing you to play along easily at first, and pick up the pace as you get better. There are also 4 complete solos and 6 jam tracks that demonstrate all of the techniques throughout the book, giving a very good "real world" example of the techniques and approach. As a bonus Griff has included an excellent book full of turnaround and ending licks. Some of them arepretty straight forward blues, but a couple of them are real head-turners. It's really an impressive package, and the testimonials on the website prove that I'm not alone in thinking that. All in all, a very well thought out, tested, and put together system.
